The iShares S&P Style Indexes segment the market by both capitalizaion and value/growth. The family of six ETF's represent small-, mid-, and large-cap companies divided into growth or value based on the book-to-price ratio. The capitalization split is consistent with the S&P small-cap 600, mid-cap 400, and large-cap 500 indexes. And each company is categorized either value or growth. This is unlike some other indexes where a company can fall into both categories or neither category.
